“Poor things. Costumes”: Opening of the exhibition at the Benaki Museum

Featuring the pieces worn by the main characters of George Lanthimos’ award-winning film

Exhibition “Poor Things. The grand opening of “Clothes”, featuring beautiful costumes from Giorgos Lanthimos’ internationally successful film of the same name, was held yesterday at the Benaki Museum by the President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

The film’s Oscar- and BAFTA-winning costume designer took part in the opening ceremony Holly Waddington.

The Benaki Museum gives its audience the opportunity to see up close the extraordinary costumes of recent and multi-award winning international film productions and appreciate another dimension of the art of costume.

Meanwhile, as part of the exhibition, the Benaki Museum, in collaboration with the Greek Costume Society, is giving the Greek public the opportunity to meet Holly Waddington in a discussion on Wednesday, June 12 at 8 p.m. : 00 pm, at Benaki Museum / Piraeus 138.

Holly Waddington will be interviewed about her work: Dr. Set-designer-costume designer, professor of costume design at Aalto University, Sofia Pantouvaki, vice-president of the Costume Society of Finland, Greece, and Pavlos Thanopoulos, designer-costume designer of the exhibition.

The event will be held in English. Admission is free with tickets and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Distribution of entrance tickets starts 1 hour before the event at the box office of the Benaki Museum (Piraeus 138).
