Lokomondo celebrates! Twenty one years on stage, twenty one years of concerts and we continue to celebrate in Greece and abroad – winter or summer! The great music company of reggae, ska and Latin rhythms has been winning the hearts of everyone – young and old – everywhere for years, as the line “It’s not cold in Greece, it never has been cold” does not leave the audience unmoved. With a mix of reggae, ska, latin, rock and traditional Greek rhythms, Lokomondo manages to excite audiences of all ages and unite us all in one big group of endless dances.
They know how to excite the audience with their “high” rhythms and their favorite songs like “It’s not cold in Greece”, having traveled miles from stage to stage. Magic carpet’, ’80’s’ and ‘rap, ska, reggae, hip-hop, dub, ska, reggae, onedrop’.
Lokomondo was founded in Athens in 2003 by Markos Koumaris and Yiannis Varnavas. Their songs have been included in the playlists of various European stations since their inception. In 2005, they traveled to Jamaica and recorded with legendary trombonist Vin Gordon – the first time a Greek band had recorded in Jamaica. Two years later they opened ManuChao’s concert in Malacca.
Since then, they have been on a steady upward trajectory. They recorded more than nine albums and performed in Germany, France, Italy, Bulgaria, Turkey, etc. performed in the biggest concert venues in Greece and abroad.
