Concern over relocation of three special schools in Pylaia

The National Confederation of Persons with Disabilities (ESAMeA) is concerned about three special schools located in Pylaia, as they should have been relocated by the new year, but there is no information about their relocation.

As he explained, the start of the new school year is a few weeks away, but he has not yet received any information about their transfer.

The issue arose earlier in the year when ESAmeA received assurances that the schools would be moved to a new building. Although the building is located in a larger area, it would be suitable and accessible for everyone.

“The lack of information to date is deeply concerning,” the Confederation emphasizes. In addition, it “reinforces the insecurity and uncertainty of students, parents and teachers of certain school divisions.”

ESAMEA has sent a letter to the Regional Director of Education of Central Macedonia, Mr. A. Koptsis, and to all authorities, asking to be informed of the measures taken so far.

It also wants to know which ones are being redirected, e.g. preparation and suitability of new infrastructures, application to the district regarding the movement of students, information of parents who provide education, etc.

On the other hand, as the start of the new school year approaches, ESAmeA calls for the reassurance and re-commitment of all competent services that the school year will start at the same time and on an equal basis for all students with disabilities in the country. , in an appropriate and accessible school environment in their area.
