Dimitris Maramis in “BtK”: “Permanent members of the system are sabotaging”

“The Internet does not offer construction, on the contrary. It only makes a temporary impression. The Internet is now dying because it was developed without laws and regulations.”

Mr. Marami, as artistic director of the 6th Delphi Festival “The Lalon Water” again this year, remind me what it is about and what you have prepared for this year.

ToLalon Water” is the Phokis Festival with Delphi as its starting point, the cultural amphitheater of Delphi, a veritable network of artistic events that give life to artistic activity every summer in the various cities and communities of Central Greece. Phocis. This year, it will continue until August 12, including musical events in specially selected natural areas of Fokida.

Which municipality initiative is this?

“This is the most important activity of the Delphi Network, an initiative of the Municipality of Delphi, the Municipality of Dorida and the Region of Central Greece”.

In which cities will the events take place and which artists will participate?

“In cities: Delphi, Amfissa, Itea, Galaxidi, Eratini, Lidoriki and Krokyleio. Participants: Amfissa Music School, Athens Philharmonic Orchestra with conductor Nikos Maliaras, Savina Giannatou with pianist Spyros Manesis, Yannis Kotsiras, Eleni Vitali, Kostas Makedonas, Yiannis In a concert of folk songs with Dionysiou, Christianna Galiatsou, Myrtozo Vauzsiu, Boouzouius, Boouzou, Xydis and Stella Konitopoulou Vasiliki Karakosta.

This year, you are also organizing the concert of the Amfissa Music School. I mean?

Many times “Lalon Ydor” gave young people and students a platform to show their talents. So, this year, he created professional infrastructure and conditions for the big concert of the orchestra of the students of Amfissa Music School, which they have been preparing together with their teachers for a year. In this way, the Festival gives young musicians a starting point, and at the same time presents the live experience of young talents to its audience.”

What does this festival want to convey? Is there interest from tourists?

“Musical events are held in suitable natural locations throughout the prefecture. It is a real cultural network of different cities, connecting and harmonizing places with the musical spirit of the whole summer. The interest of visitors is constantly increasing every year.”

Does the state, Mr. Marami, support Art?

“The Local Government created it and supported it from the beginning, and from the fourth year it also received the support of the Ministry of Health as it gained an institutional position on the cultural map with the consistency that characterizes it.”

Modern Opera, modern Musicals, performances abroad, international recognition, what you should try for you and your studies. What is the personal cost of being high?

“It takes a lot of strength and a lot of courage because there are a lot of bending moments. It is an extremely difficult path, which I realize even more now that I have grown up. You always start from scratch. There is never rest. You do this because you cannot live without creation. Now it is clear to me. I create so I can take a few breaths in a very dangerous and wild world. When you reach the edge, you grow wings.”

What do you want to convey to the public with your art?

“Man’s innocence, the original root. That’s why I always love the look of children, the only thing in this world that contains innocence. True Art involves innocence, purity and truth. Spirituality includes innocence.”

Now everything is easier with the internet, even setting up. Good music, good reading, good artists, but do they exist or is the internet neglecting the convenience it offers?

“The Internet does not offer construction, on the contrary. It only makes a temporary impression. The Internet is now dying because it was developed without laws and regulations. Totally superficial. It destroys the young people who depend only on it.”

If the system recognizes talent, does it support it, or sabotage it if it doesn’t belong in a cycle?

“Anyway we’ve heard, we’ve gone through the system. Some of us come and go, and some of us are there permanently. Residents sabotage. People around write down what they say and quickly move away from it or away from it. I belong to the latter. The system never supports talent for long. Because many others who are comfortable in their own way inside will lose.”

How do you see the future of music in our country?

“If it continues as it has been for the last 3-4 years? What young, good musicians, groups, groups, composers, singers absolutely do not give a step and space to express themselves? I see the complete disappearance of Greek creation. They don’t give place to Music anymore. It’s not worth it. A swamp!”

If you could, what advice would you give to your younger self?

“I would do it all over again.”

Usually, pregnancy is easier in life than childbirth… In music?

“Pregnancy is more difficult, but at the same time more beautiful and interesting.”

What do you think is the beauty of life?

“In the moment of emotion.”

Were you born with this divine gift or have you built it over the years?

“I was born with something, but I’m always learning it.”

Apart from “To Lalon Ydor”, are you composing anything new that we will hear or see soon?

“The world premiere of the Concerto for Saxophone and Orchestra, which I wrote for solo saxophonist Dionysis Roussos, took place on July 5 in Xiamen, China with the Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Yin Hyun Baek. He applauded there and excited the audience.”

“The Internet does not offer construction, on the contrary. It only makes a temporary impression. The Internet is now dying because it was developed without laws and regulations.”
