Technically, this is defined as “replacement” intervention. In practice, this means that the Municipality takes control of the situation by advancing funds to be reimbursed by the person selling the land in those circumstances to eliminate environmental liabilities for which previous users of the land are responsible.
The good news for the Loggia coffers is that more than 3 million euros will be needed to restore the approximately 4,300 square meters of land near the “Casa del Parco” via Fusera, on Lake Gerolotto in the Cave Park. 3,054,471.78 to be exact.
Reclamation
The area to be recultivated will be divided into eight zones (ameliorative nets). Having analyzed each of these, we will continue to carry out selective excavations for the removal of soil and subsoil. Excavations will be carried out at different levels depending on what is discovered during the site characterization, as envisaged in the operational reclamation project. The duration of the contract will be 260 days and the award procedure has already started. Thus, the renovation work can begin in early 2025.
Special preventive measures have been taken to prevent the spread of contaminating material. Anti-blinding panels with a height of two meters will be placed around the entire perimeter of the construction site. Staff will wear protective equipment, undergo health checks and personal dust monitoring.
Before the start of the construction site and after the completion of the reclamation works, in agreement with Arpa, groundwater will be monitored using two piezometers located in the perimeter area of the reclamation affected area.
At the end of the operations, interventions will be made on the lawns, poles for public lighting will be installed and a dam will be created to connect the reclaimed green space with the “Park House”.
