Next week, Cinema Nights, organized by the Ephorate of Larissa Antiquities in collaboration with the French Embassy of Larissa-Institute, begins in the cool garden of the Timeless Museum. On Tuesday, June 18, we are waiting for our friends at the meeting for the first Ciné – 2024. The film will be shown through the IF Cinéma platform:
Haute Cuisine (Haute Cuisine/ Les Saveurs Du Palais, France, 2012, 95′) with Christian Vincent, Catherine Froux, Jean d’Ormesson, Hippolyte Girardeau, Jean-Marc Rouleau.
Plot: Hortense Labory, a famous chef from the Perigord region of France, is surprised when the President of the French Republic invites her to be his personal chef. From this position, he will be responsible for all his meals at the Presidential Palace of the Saint-Élysées, as well as those of his special guests. Despite the competition and jealousy she faces from the rest of the kitchen, Ortance quickly establishes herself thanks to her defiant spirit.
The originality of the dishes she cooks soon captivates the president, but the corridors of the Palace hide traps… The film is based on the true story of Danielle Delpes, the personal chef of the President of the French Republic, François Mitterrand. It should be noted that Jean d’Ormesson, who plays President Mitterrand in the film, is not an actor, he is a French intellectual. He knew Mitterrand well, discussed philosophical and religious issues with him, and was one of his critics.
The screening of the film this week will take place on Tuesday as an exception. In the coming weeks, the films will be shown every Wednesday.
As for the cinema program, on June 26, “Ennio On Big Screen” together with the Ennio Morricone Music Friends Cultural Association of Greece, the masterpiece of the brothers Paolo and Vitorrio Taviani, “Allonzanfan” will be screened.
