“Poor things. Costumes”: Exhibition opens at Benaki Museum

The Benaki Museum gives its audience the opportunity to see up close the extraordinary costumes of recent and multi-award winning international film productions and appreciate another dimension of the art of costume.
The exhibition, which runs until September 29, features original handmade costumes by Holly Waddington for George Lanthimos’ Poor Things, worn by Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Mark Ruffalo, Ramy Youssef, Vicki Pepperdine, Kathryn Hunter and Jerrod Carmichael. already presented at London’s Barbican Center (2023).

Meanwhile, as part of the exhibition, the Benaki Museum, in collaboration with the Greek Costume Society, is giving the Greek public the opportunity to meet Holly Waddington in a discussion on Wednesday, June 12 at 8 p.m. : 00 pm, at Benaki Museum / Piraeus 138.

Holly Waddington will be interviewed about her work: Dr. Set-designer-costume designer, Professor of Costume Design at Aalto University, Sofia Pantouvaki, Vice President of the Costume Society of Finland, Greece and Pavlos Thanopoulos, designer of the exhibition.

The event will be held in English. Admission is free with tickets and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Distribution of entrance tickets starts 1 hour before the event at the box office of the Benaki Museum
