Pygmalion Dadakaridis: Brings the Oscar-winning “Whale” to the theater

The play will premiere on October 16 at the Neos Akadimos theater

With Samuel De Hunter’s 2022 film adaptation of the three-Oscar-winning riveting play The Whale, Pygmalionas Dadakaridis returns to the theater and, in fact, the dual role of director and protagonist.

Will play Premiere at Neos Akadimos theater on October 16.

Originally written for the theater in 2012, the play is about a moving, savior, human-centered drama of a person who plunges from darkness to light.

Charlie, a self-destructive, obese, disconnected English teacher, “sinks” in time, waiting for salvation from life itself, along with the desire to continue living. He struggles to come to terms with his estranged daughter and his past.

THE whale prompts you to find your humanity in characters who are neither good nor bad, with rich and complex inner worlds. They have all made mistakes, but they share a desire to love even when others cannot.

It’s a story that asks the ultimate question: can we save each other? It is important today, especially when people turn their backs on their neighbors.

Actors will also perform in the play Efstathia Tsapareli, Giorgos Benos, Asimenia Voulioti and Georgina Paleotodorus.
