According to EMY, “as the warm air masses covering a large part of Eastern Europe and the Balkans will continue to affect us, very high temperatures will continue in our country at least until Sunday (21/7)”.
The highest temperatures will be recorded on Wednesday and Thursday (17 and 18/7) in the interior of mainland Greece, mainly in the west, center and north.
A new heatwave emergency bulletin from the EEA:
A. the maximum temperature value in the coastal areas of the mainland will be 2-4 degrees lower than the temperature in mainland Greece and
B. minimum temperatures will also be kept high, ranging between 29-30 degrees Celsius in most urban areas.

Wednesday (7/17) and Thursday (7/18) maximum temperatures are forecast to reach:
a. 41 to 42 inland and locally 43 degrees Celsius in west, central and north.
b. 38-40 degrees Celsius in the Ionian Islands, Eastern Aegean Islands, Twelve Islands and southern Crete.
c. 35 to 37 degrees Celsius in the rest of the island countries.
d. 39-40 degrees in Attica and Thessaloniki Prefecture.
2. Friday (7/19) maximum temperatures are forecast to reach:
a. it will be 38-39 degrees in the northern continental areas, and 40-41 degrees in the rest of the continental regions.
b. 37 to 40 degrees Celsius in the Ionian Islands, the Eastern Aegean Islands, the Twelve Islands and southern Crete.
c. 35 to 37 degrees Celsius in the rest of the island countries.
d. 38-39 degrees in Attica and Thessaloniki prefecture.
Isolated storms will develop in the northern part of the country from Friday afternoon to midday.
3. Saturday (7/20) From noon, occasional thunderstorms will continue in the north of the country, and temperatures are expected to reach:
a. It will be 37-39 degrees in the northern continental areas, 40 degrees in other continental regions, and 41 degrees locally in the western continental areas.
b. 38-40 degrees Celsius in the Ionian Islands, Eastern Aegean Islands, Twelve Islands and southern Crete.
c. 34 to 36 degrees Celsius in the rest of the island countries.
d. 39 and maybe 40 degrees in Attica and 38-39 degrees in Thessaloniki prefecture.
Sunday (21/7) The maximum temperature will be 37-39 degrees Celsius in the continental region and 40 degrees Celsius locally.
